OUR PASTOR & FIRST LADY

APOSTLE ISHAM S. CORDERY

MEET OUR PASTOR TEACHER

Apostle Isham Steven Cordery is a humble servant who indeed lives by the principles of a biblical Bishop. He is the epitome of a Bishop, living a blameless lifestyle. He has been a dedicated husband to one wife, the lovely Jacqueline Denise Cordery since 1984. She states that "working beside your husband in the ministry is a wonderful job." He is also the father of one daughter, Stephanie. Apostle Cordery is also vigilant, sober, godly, given to hospitality, and certainly apt to teach! He does not lord over God's heritage, but maintains a godly lifestyle before the saints and consequently teaches the commandments and the doctrine of Jesus Christ. As a man of God who grew up under the tutelage of the late Bishop S.P. Rawlings, he is known for his godly wisdom and anointed leadership. Indeed Apostle Cordery was cut from the fabric of his "spiritual father".

When asked for his thoughts Apostle Cordery states, "I believe that God draws us with loving-kindness and with His everlasting love. We should then return that love with submission to His will, and separation from carnality and worldliness, for they are enmity with God. "

Apostle Cordery is also an educated man. He received his B.A. in Chemistry from Eastern Kentucky University, his B.S. in theology from K.C.C.R., and has completed course work toward a Masters in Pastoral Ministry.  He is a Certified Church Manager. While in college he led the University Ensemble of EKU and upon graduation became Chapter Representative and Choral Director for the Louisville Chapter GMWA

He was an Associate Manager, QA for Kentucky Friend Chicken, Inc, for 37 years. He has served what is now Grace Temple Church, Inc. as pastor approximately since 1981. Aside from serving as a pastor, Apostle Isham S. Cordery also served as the Midwest District Superintendent of the House of God and Dean of Seminars for the National YPU/Choir Convention. He is well respected and loved nationally by many in the brotherhood, as well as in the Louisville community. On any given day, Apostle can be seen providing love and direction for the fatherless, encouragement for the youth, counsel, and support for the widows, guidance for the ministry, and godly leadership for the saints. If ever anyone needs deliverance Apostle Cordery is the man to preach an anointed message of deliverance. Several saints have concurred that "every Sabbath Day when Apostle Cordery opens his mouth to preach, the anointing of God falls on the congregation and losses band of wickedness and destroys yokes of bondage!"

In 2010 along with Lady Diann Roundtree, he began the Grace Temple Fellowship of Churches mainly to assist other churches that have become denominationally disconnected.

Under his leadership, Grace Temple Church has grown both spiritually and physically. He has overseen the move to a larger camp and initiated several ministries.

ELECT LADY JACQUELINE D. CORDERY

MEET OUR ONE OF A KIND, FIRST LADY

First Lady Jacqueline Cordery, affectionately called "NaNa" by the children, is a native of Columbia, TN. She was born to John Kersey and Paulette Jones on January 10, 1962. She is the eldest child of 3 siblings.

In her youth, she taught children's Sunday School at the Original Church of God as well as ushered and sang in the choir. She has been blessed with the gift of working with the youth. As a teen Lady Cordery received the gift of the Holy Ghost while traveling to Glasgow, KY, and the greater Kentucky area with her grandfather. After completing her secondary education at Central High School, where she was the mascot, Lady Cordery went on to receive her Associate's degree in Communications from Jefferson Community College in Louisville, KY.

A young Jacqueline Cordery met her husband to be, Deacon Isham Cordery, while she was participating in the Rev. James Cleveland workshop where he was a chapter representative. She recalls the young man as being "arrogant" after the first impression. The two eventually fell in love and later married in 1983. The following year the Lord blessed them with a beautiful baby girl, Stephanie.

Since 1984 this spiritual woman of God has labored in the Lord's vineyard as First Lady. She wears many hats at Grace Temple as she teaches children's Sabbath School, is the President of the Sisterhood, serves as an Usher, Trustee and lends her beautiful voice to the choir. She has been blessed to develop close friendships and be mentored by Elect Lady Wanda Best, Elect Lady Marilyn Carter, and Pastor Joann Sumrall to help her along the way on her journey.

Lady Cordery is faithful to the Grace Temple ministry. You may hear her reciting any one of her favorite quotes which are "You can't press rewind" and "it is what it is". If you have ever had the privilege of being around Lady Cordery then you will also know that she is a "fashionista" and loves to dress and create her style.

This wife, mother, preacher, teacher, friend, and most of all child of God has blessed Grace Temple Church and the body of Christ as a whole with her service of love. She is indeed an example of what a Holy woman should look like and is worthy of honor.
